[Bio]a glimpse of who i am
My name is Spencer Battle (obviously i hope) and i am a graduate from the Industrial Design program of Auburn University(may 14, 2004....with a business minor, which is a minor point indeed). I originally hail from Flowood, Mississippi...which is right outside the capital, Jackson(there's a small geography lesson there for y'all).
So what kind of person am I?
Well......I would say a different one....which is good (in my mind anyhow) because in my generation it seems that there are enough of the MTV soaked, brain dead, I don't know what to do so I just do what I'm bombarded with type people about. Now don't take that as misdirected rage, for my rage is reserved for those that really deserve it...I just feel that society continues to constrict individuality in many aspects, and popular music just happens to be one of the easiest to attack...(so you know, I am a ridiculous fan of old and new school prog...must be that musical education I've had).
...anyway...
Over the past 4 years of my life I have dedicated my time, energy, and body parts to become an Industrial Designer. What have I learned you ask? Well, I have learned that my creative problem solving skills far surpass my artistic ability. I don't think of this as a problem however, for with each line I draw, I get cleaner and more precise, but creativity isn't something I think you can learn. To me its an innate ability that can be imitated, but never duplicated (to steal the words of somebody else).
Creativity is in my blood...manifested at first by LEGOS....sweet, sweet LEGOS, with which I built my first robot, or town, or theme park(an awesome theme park if that if i may say myself). I still relish the moments when my little cousin dumps out my thousands of LEGOS and I get the opportunity to build with him. How does the commercial go? Priceless.
So with my life I have no other desire than to inflict the unsuspecting masses with my ideas, not of utopia, but of a better way of doing this or that, or maybe just a more enjoyable way of doing this or that(which is not the better way after all?)
Where will I end up? who will I influence? Only YOU know...so help us all out, and let a humble guy from Mississippi show the world how to smile when they see this, or laugh when they do that, because in the end, I am merely a hard working guy that wants to make everyone smile...even if they never know they are smiling.
